Les pressions environnementales liées au transport maritime dans la Caraïbe

The presentation will focus on the work carried out over the past 10 years by the Observatoire Hommes-Milieux Littoral Caraïbe (OHM), a long-term project run by the CNRS, to assess the impact of maritime transport on Caribbean ecosystems. This work, which covers several scales, from Guadeloupe to the Greater Caribbean region, is based on a variety of methods: field observations, participatory science, geohistorical mapping, AIS data processing, and even image processing carried out by LAMIA. Our main results, as well as research prospects—particularly with LAMIA—will be discussed.
