Recherche
Mes travaux de recherche concernent l'utilisation de méthodes informatiques (fouille de données, apprentissage automatique, intelligence artificielle,...) pour la recherche de modèles de prévision hydrologique. En particulier, nous nous intéressons aux phénomènes de crues rapides typiques des bassins versant de la Caraïbe.
On parle de modélisation dirigée par les données dans le sens ou il s'agit d'associer des variables d'entrées à des variables de sortie en se basant sur un ensemble de données historiques observées. Les modèles que nous recherchons sont constitués d'ensembles de variables agrégées permettant de caractériser le comportement hydrologique d'un bassin versant sur une période donnée. Un algorithme évolutionnaire est utilisé pour rechercher les meilleurs ensembles de telles variables sous la forme de jurys votant à la majorité. Cette approche permet d'obtenir des performances de prédiction sensiblement meilleures qu'avec d'autres approches dirigées par les données typiquement utilisées en hydrologie (Réseaux de neurones, Random Forest,..).
